Goa 1556 is run by
journalist Frederick Noronha with the aim to democratise the production of
knowledge. Goa 1556's main goal is to create space and lend voices to Goan
authors.

approached us to create a website for Goa 1556 along with mobile apps for
android, iPhone and windows mobiles - so that it gets global visibility and
people can also know about the rich and varied Goa literature available.
OPSPL created a
wordpress website for him so that all the information on the different books
available in print and changes could be put-up for the world to see. Initially managed
by us, the website was later taken up by Frederick.
Nowadays people prefer
shopping online to save time in this fast moving world, so we added a “Pay-by
PayPal” option. For user convenience we also provided a mail enquiry button so that
site visitors, interested in Goa Books can easily dash-off-an-email and ask
Frederick queries about a particular book(s).
At present Goa 1556
has 73 listed (and available to buy) books and many more to come.
