World Stray Animals Day

“April 4th is intended to be a day of compassion, concern and action for all stray animals in the world.”

4/4 is World Stray Animals Day. This day is already being celebrated in more than 60 countries. It is a day to give special attention to the 600,000,000 stray animals all over the world, to show compassion, deploy initiatives to care, and get into action for them.
Every year millions of stray dogs, cats, horses and donkeys fend for themselves in terrible conditions, often being pursued, abused and killed by authorities and communities. Most of us live in countries where there are many stray animals being killed every year because they have no home, yet breeders produce and sell animals to the pet industry.

Think about and talk to friends and family about the benefits of adopting animals from government shelters and rescue networks. Donate to worthy animal shelters. It saves lives, saves people having to kill and it gives these precious beings shelter and protection – the causes of long and healthy lives to come!

World Strays Animal Day's official Facebook page has over 5,000 Likes and over 1,000 people talking about it as of 12 am on April 4, 2012. Awareness and action is the key to controlling the homeless animal population and placing them into loving, safe homes.

World Autism Day

“Autism is not limited to a single region or country; raise awareness about autism across the globe.”
The seventh annual World Autism Awareness Day is April 2, 2014. This day celebrates the unique talents and skills of persons with autism and is a day when individuals with autism are warmly welcomed and embraced in community events around the globe.
Raise awareness about autism throughout society and encourage early diagnosis and early intervention.

World Autism Awareness Day is about more than generating understanding; it is a call to action. It is urged all concerned to take part in fostering progress by supporting education programmes, employment opportunities and other measures that help realize our shared vision of a more inclusive world.
Autism affects girls and boys of all races and in all geographic regions and has a large impact on children, their families, communities and societies. The prevalence is currently rising in many countries around the world. Caring for and educating children and young people with this condition places challenges on health care, education and training programs.

Be Autism-friendly. Not Autism-ignorant
